Treating Live Termites
Sunshine Coast &
Brisbane Northside

Wipeout Termites and Pests specialises in termite control across the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane Northside. As an owner-operated business, when you book with Wipeout it's me — Mark — who comes to your home. No subcontractors, no call centres, just direct experience where it counts.

I've personally treated hundreds of termite infestations over a 20+ year career and have a 100% success rate in gaining colony control. I'm confident in finding the right solution for any termite problem, and I back that up with free property assessments and honest, upfront pricing.

The most important thing if you find termites — don't disturb them and don't spray them with anything. Disturbing termites significantly reduces the effectiveness of treatment. If you accidentally break into their workings, seal it with tape and call me immediately.

Termite Treatment Costs — What to Expect

Treatment costs vary depending on the size and severity of the infestation and the method required:

  • Dusting or Termidor foam injection — from $200 to $500 for contained infestations

  • Internal baiting programs (larger infestations requiring multiple visits) — from $600+

  • Termite barriers — from $1,000 to $2,000 for smaller homes, $2,000 to $4,000 for larger homes

I only use  the best products for treatments, . I'm happy to come and assess any termite problem free of charge and provide you with a clear plan and price.

Step 1 — Full Inspection Before Any Treatment

Before any treatment begins, a thorough inspection of your property is essential. This covers all internal and external areas including walls, roof voids, slab edges, subfloors, gardens, yard trees and stumps, and any other areas susceptible to termite entry. We check for live termite activity, mud tubes, moisture issues, environmental conditions that attract termites, and signs of hidden entry points.

Once the inspection is complete, I'll walk you through exactly what I've found and recommend the most appropriate treatment option for your specific situation.

Treatment Option 1 — Dusting with Fipforce Dust

Termite dusting is a highly effective and minimally invasive remedial treatment for active termite infestations. Fipforce Dust is applied directly into termite workings, where it is picked up on the termites' bodies as they move through the damaged timber.

The dust spreads through the colony via the termites' natural grooming behaviour — they pass it from one to another all the way through to the queen — resulting in the gradual decline and complete eradication of the colony. The dust also spreads through feeding and cannibalism of dead termites, ensuring thorough colony elimination.

This method is safe, targeted and requires no large-scale chemical application.

Treatment Option 2 — Termidor Foam Injection

Termidor foam is one of the most effective remedial treatments available for active termite infestations. As a non-repellent insecticide, termites cannot detect it — which means they continue to move through the treated area and unknowingly spread it through the colony.

The foam is injected directly into termite nests and galleries, where it expands to fill the voids and kill termites on contact. It is fast-acting, highly effective and ideal for treating infestations within wall cavities and timber structures.

Treatment Option 3 — In-Situ Baiting

For sensitive environments or homeowners who prefer to avoid liquid pesticides, in-situ baiting is an excellent alternative. Bait is placed directly in areas of active termite activity. The termites feed on it and carry it back to the colony, where it gradually eliminates the queen and the rest of the colony.

This is a slower approach than dusting or foam — feeding on bait can take several months — but it offers a unique advantage: you can be confident the entire colony has been eliminated, which other methods cannot always guarantee. Importantly, once termites are actively feeding on the bait, they are no longer feeding on the timber in your home.

Reducing Your Risk of Future Termite Infestation

After treatment, the next step is protecting your home from future attack. Simple steps that make a real difference include:

  • Remove timber debris, old stumps, logs and firewood from around the property

  • Fix leaks and drainage issues promptly — moisture is a major termite attractant

  • Trim foliage and vegetation that is overhanging or in contact with your home

  • Remove garden beds against external walls and manage soil heights around slab edges

  • Have your home inspected annually by a licensed pest technician
