Treatments to live termites can in some cases only cost $200 to $500 for dusting termites or Termidor foam injection but large infestations where internal baiting is required and several visits may cost over $1000.

Termite barriers start at around $1000 to $2000 for small homes and $2000 to $4000 for larger homes. I only use Termidor which comes with a 8 year life excpectancy.

Termites are a serious pest that can cause extensive damage to your home in the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. If you think you have a termite infestation, it is important to act quickly to prevent further damage. Firstly try not to disturb the termites (DONT SPRAY THEM WITH ANYTHING)  you may loose the opportunity to complete a non invasive remedial termite treatment, if you happen to break into their workings seal it with tape and call me , There are a number of different treatment options available, and the best option for you will depend on the type of termites, the location of the infestation, and the severity of the damage.

Dusting Termites with Fipforce Dust

The process involves the dust being picked up and progressively passed on from one termite to the next during the termites regular habit of grooming each other via stomodeal & proctodeal trophallaxis, all the way through to the colony queen, resulting ultimately in the gradual decline and eradication of the colony responsible for the infestation. The dust affects the termite’s central nervous system by way of four different modes of entry. The dust is picked up by the termites on their cuticle (exo-skeleton) as they move through the damaged timber, Ingestion of the dust while feeding on the timber & while grooming themselves, transferring the dust from one to another during the termite’s regular habit of grooming each other (called stomodeal & proctodeal trophallaxis), whereby bacteria, proteins, nutrients and the Fipforce Dust are interchanged all the way through to the queen, resulting ultimately, in the decline and eradication of the colony responsible for the infestation. Ingesting more of the dust when cannibalising dead termites which have succumbed to the treatment.

Treatment with Termidor Foam

One of the most effective methods for treating termites is a remedial treatment with Termidor foam in a can. Termidor foam is a non-repellent insecticide that is injected into termite nests and galleries. The foam expands to fill the voids, and it kills the termites on contact.

Baiting

Externinex is a bait that is used to control termites. The bait is placed in areas where termites are active. The termites eat the bait and carry it back to their colony, where it kills the queen and other termites. This is a slow approch but offers a way in knowing the colony has been elimtinated which other methods can't and is very safe for sensitive areas or people who don't like pesticides. This method requires patience as the ffeding on bait can takes several months but you can have peace of mind as once the termites are eating the bait there are now not able to eat timber.

Full Inspection

Before any treatment is started, it is important to have a full inspection of your home to determine the extent of the infestation. The inspector will look for termite activity, such as damage, mud tubes, mositure, enviromental conditions, areas of hidden termite entry. They will also inspect the roof, walls, slab edges, subfloors, the gardens and yard trees and stumps and areas of your home that are susceptible to termite damage.

Once the inspection is complete, the inspector will recommend the best treatment option for your home. The treatment will be tailored to the specific type of termites, the location of the infestation, and the severity of the damage.

Prevention

The best way to prevent termite infestation is to take steps to make your home less attractive to termites. This includes:

  • Keeping your home clean and free of timber debris, stumps and logs.

  • Fixing moisture and drainage problems.

  • cutting removing foliage overhanging and incontact with residence

  • removing gardens against external wall and managing soil heights around slab edges and walls
